La Canada
Huelva » La Canada
La Cañada is a fitting tribute to the people of Guadiaro who , three decades ago were working at different golf courses around the region but dreamt of having their own golf club . This dream became a reality when 9-holes were designed by Robert Trends Jones as a present to la Cañada , and few years later a further 9-holes were added by designer David Thomas . The end product from these two renowned course designers is an 18-hole par-71 course ,
Huelva » Islantilla
Designed by Enrique Canales and Luis Recasens the 27 hole course in Huelva opened in 1992 . The complex extends over three hundred hectares and will eventually include an Olympic training village , equestrian centre , yacht harbour and casino . The magnificent Andalusian style clubhouse offers all the desired comforts and facilities . In 1995 it hosted the Turespana Masters won by Alex Cejka , plus various Challenge Tour tournaments , including the APG of Spain . This has given a great category and reputation to Islantilla , which in 2000 has been listed among the top 100 golf courses in Europe . 27 holes , three different layouts surrounded by lush vegetation and with stunning sea views .
Huelva » El Rompido ( North )
Surrounded by a beautiful natural area , Las Marismas del Rompido , El Rompido boasts magnificent sea views . Opened in June 2006 , the par72 18-hole north course is a monument to modern golf , intelligent and entertaining – as described in the Peugeot Guide to Europe ’ s Top 1000 Golf Courses . It is modern because it combines power with precision ; intelligent because it makes you think about your shots before hitting ; and entertaining because its mediumsized greens will entertain both the most skilled player and those with the highest handicaps . The course blends into the beauty of its natural surroundings but beware of the water features that come into play on holes 5 and 10 .
Huelva » El Rompido ( South ) Playing to a distance of 6168m from the back tees , the par-72 South course opened in October 2003 . Designed by Alvaro Arana , the course runs alongside the clubhouse and is divided into two courses with very different characteristics , both in terms of technique and the landscape . The pine forest alternates with olive trees and wetlands , requiring golfers to use strategy and precision in their strokes . The course , which can be played easily on foot , offers spacious greens known to be among the fastest in Andalusia . The combination of tropical grass and winter grass gives the fairways a comfortable , pleasant feel .
