Madrid » Golf Retamares
The Club de Golf Retamares is a family sports club founded
in 1993. Thirty minutes to the north of Madrid and near the A1
Madrid – Burgos motorway. The course stretches over 720,000 m²
of land with spectacular views of the mountains and the capital.
Among the recent changes, some of the most outstanding have
been the construction of five lakes to complete a total of eight
on the course, to the planting of 1200 trees, with a new network
of buggy paths, improved watering and drainage system and
the widening of the fairway of the emblematic 15th hole called
Mirador.

Real Club de Golf La Herreria was established in 1966 and is
located in an area at 45kms from Madrid and very close to the
impressive Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, which was
built to commemorate the Spanish victory of San Quintin battle
in c1557. The José Gancedo designed 18-hole course is 6,122
metres long, and often referred to as one of the most beautiful
golf courses in Madrid. This first nine is built sustainably around
the oak forest and the indigenous ash and holm oak forest.
The second nine is a more open space, surrounded by the
amphitheatre formed by the mountains. The club has a practice
driving range area with 22 places, a bunker and two putting
greens, where golf players can get golf lessons.

The National Centre of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation is
situated on publicly owned land made available by the Madrid
City Council and bordered by the walls of the Monte del Pardo
park, the M-40 ring road and the Mirasierra neighbourhood in
the city of Madrid. Fully integrated into the city of Madrid, the
National Golf Centre is a popular, urban, public course. It is easy
to get to, with an underground station and a couple of bus stops
nearby, and in this respect it is one of a kind in Europe.
