Alhama Signature is in the municipality of the town of Alhama,
40-minutes from Mar Menor Golf. Often considered of of the
best golf courses in Spain, Alhama Signature is a major challenge
for both amateur and professional golfers. Designed, directed
and signed personally by Jack Nicklaus, this is a course that forces
you to think carefully about course strategy and management,
especially before approaching the well-guarded greens. Spread
across 96 hectares, it contains native flora, 5 lakes, 116 white silica
sand bunkers, original circular tee boxes, wide fairways and fast
greens.
Murcia » Saurines Golf
Saurines de la Torre Golf is an 18-hole par 72 desert style
course reaching 6498 meters from the back tees. This course is
reminiscent of desert courses that you would find in the arid
lands of USA, but with a distinctly different feel of links golf.
Created by Nicklaus Design and opened in 2011, it is characterized
by undulating fairways and greens between desert dunes. There
isn’t too much bunkering but a 6 acre lake guards the 9th and 18th
holes, which provides an exciting finish.
Murcia » Mar Menor Golf
Mar Menor Golf is an excellent test of Championship golf, playing
to a par-72 of 6153 meters off the back tees. It has hosted many
important events such as the Final of the Europro Tour in 2011
and the Spanish Seniors in 2012. It was created by two of the best
designers in golf: Dave Thomas (front 9) and Nicklaus Design (back
9). The first nine holes are a par-37 that requires accurate tee shots
and approaches to well protected greens that are guarded by
bunkers and lakes, while the second nine is a par-35 that features
wide fairways and great scoring chances. One of the main features
is it’s “amen corner”, consisting of holes 13,14 and 15 that wrap
around a large lake with strategically positioned bunkering. Get
though these holes on par and you will be on for a good score.

Hacienda Riquelme Golf is an 18-hole, par 72 course that measures
6356 meters, but its 4 teeing positions offer a great choice of
options. A typically Mediterranean setting, the design of this course
has given great respect to its nature olive trees and native flora &
fauna. But don’t let its beauty distract you as this desert-stlye course
is protected by lakes, deep bunkers, and greens with subtle contours.
