El Chaparral Andalucia » la Serena The tranquil atmosphere of the Japanese-style gardens of Coto de la Serena is perfect for a relaxing round of golf. Pedro Morán designed the layout which is located within a residential estate between San Pedro and Estepona. Accuracy off the tees is needed as the course winds through lush vegetation and is divided by a meandering stream. The club is private but visiting golfers are welcome and encouraged to take part in the regular competitions and use the very good practice facilities. Andalucia » Santana Santana Golf is a spectacular course, both for its design ( by Cabell Robinson) and its location - in an old avocado farm that has retained all its former ‘flavour’. Located in Mijas´s ‘Golf Valley’, Santana is one of the newer courses on the Costa del Golf. The layout 6,203 metre par 72 layout is pretty flat, very well formed, with wide fairways, expansive greens and strategically located paths between avocado trees. Situated between two rivers, with a creek passing through, the course provides the sensation of being in an absolutely natural environment away from the hustle and bustle of the coast but just a few hundred metres from the sea, main highway and hotels of Fuengirola and Mijas. The presence of preserved avocado trees makes players feel they on an established course, with mature vegetation. 48 Andalucia » El Chaparral El Chaparral Golf Club is one of the most symbolic courses on the Costa del Sol. Since its reopening, it has established itself as a quality course with the unique layout of six par 3’s, six par 4’s and six par 5’s. The 6000 metre layout offers great variety and demands high levels of skill and accuracy. It is set in unique surroundings of local vegetation and pine trees, with magnificent sea views. Under guidance of Aymerich Golf Management, facilities at El Chaparral are exceptional. Andalucia » Greenlife Greenlife Golf Club is a nine hole Par-3 course of 1.142 metres. With narrow, well prepared fairways, the holes run from the shortest at 89 metres to the longest at 169 metres. The greens are large and offer a considerable variety of pin placings. The course is ideal for starters and expert golfers wishing to keep their eye in. The layout is well defined by its abundant vegetation including palm trees and oaks. There are water features on the first and second holes and there is a river adjacent to the fifth and ninth. The club has a golf school and is the perfect place to perfect your touch before taking on some of the bigger courses on the door step.
