Alicante Alicante » Altea Altea was founded in 1974 by Don Luis Campomanes Asumendi as part of the “El Aramo” residential development project, situated at the foothills of the Sierra Bernia mountain range. It is located in the municipal limits of Altea, a Mediterranean village famous for the beauty of its historic quarter and the distinctive natural light. The course measures 3,078 metres from the white tees. Feature holes would be the 3rd with its stunning views of the Sea and the 7th from where you can make out the mountains surrounding the Marina Baixa. In May 2006, the Club opened another 18 tee boxes, creating an extraordinary new design for the back nine, having two different rounds of 9 holes. Alicante » Alenda Opened in 1997, Alenda Golf plays at 6,257 off the white tees. The first nine holes are medium length, more suited to accurate players than big hitters. The clever design of the course by Golden Fairways requires the use of every club in the bag. The holes are well linked together and the walks between green and tee are short – which isn’t common place in a lot of Spanish courses. The course is generally flat without too many slopes until you reach the greens, which provide a difficult and special character. Alenda Golf is considered a fun course for all levels of golfers. An interesting feature of Alicante Golf is the approach shot to the 14th hole, where you have to play over the runs of “Villa Ferrer”, a Roman country house from 1 BC that was discovered during course construction.
