Golf de Barcelona Barcelona » Golf de Barcelona Club de Golf de Barcelona, formally known as Masia Bach Golf Course,’ was designed by Jose Maria Olazabal and founded in 1990. This is a very demanding and tight course even for the best of golfers and is sure to prove a test of character; the shorter 9-hole course however is less demanding and a pleasant playing experience. The course is beautifully maintained and has hosted numerous professional tournaments including the 2007 Catalonia Ladies Masters, part of the Ladies European Tour. Set on the border of the Penedes wine growing region, it commands some spectacular views of the Montserrat Mountain. It is advisable to use a buggy on this course as it is hilly and tiring for some. The course is complemented with the 4 star Hotel which overlooks the 1st and 18th holes. The course is not particularly difficult but greens strategically placed and water hazards on many holes tend to make life more difficult on this all-together pleasant course. The Sitges Terramar Golf Course has recently undergone some alteration work and counts on some superb putting surfaces. during 2009 Terramar Golf Club has also extended its clubhouse and facilities underwent significant improvement. Barcelona » Vallromanes Vallromanes Golf Club has quickly become one of the most established golf clubs in Catalonia. Designed in 1972, by prestigious architect Mr F.W. Hawtree, the club has an exquisite “Masia” (traditional country house) style clubhouse. Although the Vallromanes Golf Club is a private club, arrangements can be made to play. The design of the course provides a constant challenge to the player, but with its stunning views of the mountains and valleys that surround it, it is an ideal place to relax, and combine a great round of golf with beautiful natural surroundings. 121
