Arcos Gardens Golf & Country Club
Cadiz » Sotogrande
An old master among clubs on the coast, Royal Sotogrande,
opened in 1964, is still one of Europe´s top ten courses. Known as
Sotogrande ‘Old’ to differentiate it from its youngest neighbour
Valderrama, the Robert Trent course is a private club which
welcomes green fee paying visitors although they are advised
to book in advance. As recognition during its thirtieth year
Sotogrande was awarded the ‘Royal’ prefix. The layout has wellestablished vegetation with pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and palm
trees, and water hazards play an important role, affecting holes 12,
13 and 14, and 16 and 17. They seem to make th e course longer than
its 6,244 metres. The great consolidation is the total lack of rough
on the immaculately groomed fairways. There is also a short par
3 course
Cadiz » Arcos Gardens
Arcos Gardens was designed by Landmark Land, who have a
worldwide portfolio including the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.
It is loacted in the beautiful setting of Arcos de la Frontera village.
There are five different tee off points on this par-72 championship
course, the making the course reach up to 6,574 metres in lenght.
The stunning views of the hinterland provide the backdrop to a
stunning course that features many rocky gardens, rolling hills, rivers,
lakes and bunkers. Don’t be surprised if you see some local wildlife
watching you play. Other facilities on this course are an impressive
practise range that includes various tee off points, a target fairway,
greens and a large bunker.

Cadiz » Vista Hermosa
Vista Hermosa opened in 1975 and is situated in the Bay of Cádiz,
just past El Puerto de Santa María. Fairways are narrow and
the greens are well guarded by sand traps. The main difficulty,
however, is presented by the easterly Levante wind. The club is
very active and there are regular competitions to keep members
and visitors well entertained. Although the 9-hole course at
Vista Hermosa is primarily a members course, visitors are
always welcome.
