DESTINATION GOLF SCOTLAND 2025
Golspie
As part of the seven-course James Braid Trail , stretching through the Highlands , the wonderful Golspie stirs in some spicey variety . This is links and heathland and parkland combined , and it throws in constant splashes of colour which ripple through the course – namely heather , pine trees , gorse , and the ever-impressive presence of Ben Bhraggie looming above the course .
Golspie ’ s links holes come at the start and finish and they flow over bumpy , unpredictable terrain , right above the sea . The heathland holes lie further inland and they are separated from the links holes by a ridge which runs parallel to the Dornoch
Firth . The 6th hole combines the best of both . Your drive from just above the beach takes on the ridge , dead ahead , and you ’ ll undoubtedly swing too hard to reach the upper level . Shot-making varies considerably both between the styles of hole and between the holes themselves as gorse and pine trees can wreak happy havoc . The par three 10th may be the signature hole , lost in heather , pine and water , but the 209y par three 17th and 435y par four 18th promise a dramatic finish .
