Destination Golf Scotland 2021
Fortrose & Rosemarkie
This is one of the oldest courses in the world , with golf played on Chanonry Point as early as 1702 . The course dominates the narrowest of peninsulas slicing into the Moray Firth , heading out to the very tip of Chanonry Point and its lighthouse . The current course was laid out by James Braid in the 1930s . This is a low running links with plenty of gorse to separate holes and a routing that sweeps out and back as it plays along the shoreline . The par three 5th , next to the lighthouse , is one of only two holes that play at right angles to the rest , and it plays from one side of the peninsula to the other . This is about subtle , smart links golf where wind will always wreak havoc and your ball flight needs to be low . Dolphins are regular visitors by the lighthouse , so keep an eye out . www . fortrosegolfclub . co . uk
