DESTINATION GOLF PORTUGAL 2025
NAU Morgado

Alamos

Opened in 2006, the Alamos course is one of the young courses to be added to the Algarve golf portfolio. Lying to the north of Portimao, it is located close to Morgado, and the setting is a large 980-hectare estate through small, undulating valleys. Alamos has particularly large greens which demand a strong day with your putter and an excellent all-round short game. In places, the greens are quite undulating with several tiers. Deep bunkers hang close to the greens and require accurate approach shots. This course is full of character and is rapidly growing in stature.

Parque de Floresta

Situated in the western-most part of the Algarve, 15 minutes from the city of Lagos, this varied course spreads across hillsides overlooking the ocean. The Parque da Floresta golf course was designed by the Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo, whose general philosophy was to interfere with nature as little as possible. The fairways therefore follow the natural contours of the terrain, spreading through the valleys and gorges with their vineyards and eucalyptus groves, and bordered by olive trees, palms and pines. With an enjoyable par-71 course and full resort facilities, Parque da Floresta always proves popular with tourists.

NAU Morgado

Situated in the Barrocal region of the Algarve, this mini-paradise boasts valleys, lagoons, forests, gardens, orchards and wildlife. This championship course ranks as one of the toughest and longest of all courses in the Algarve. At 6,399 metres the par-73 layout undoubtedly suits the longer hitters, but a well-chosen tee will make it shorter and more manageable. The course has five par-5s, the longest being the 535-metre 3rd, with water in play. Cunningly located deep bunkers are commonplace and the big, fast putting surfaces should have you scurrying to the practice green before you begin. Lakes come in to play on both nines with the short par-4 14th a beautiful terror. Morgado was host to the Open de Portugal from 2017 to 2019.

NAU Salgados

Situated in one of the best known regions of the Algarve, to the west of Albufeira, Salgados Golf is already a‘ postcard’ for Portuguese golf. Close to the sea, and stretched over flat, reclaimed ground, you will find a variety of lakes influencing play on all but one hole( 17th). It is an intriguing test of your golf skills, and one that is quite different to other courses in the region. If you stay in the popular resort of Albufeira, a colourful fishing resort with plenty of après golf, Salgados is a mere 3km away. If you avoid water for the entire round – and the par-5 2nd is waiting with open arms – you have done remarkably well. But, if you do avoid the water, you then have to navigate through the army of palm trees marching across the landscape.
