Amarante

Club de Golf Miramar

This is a 9-hole course built in 1932 to encourage Portuguese nationals to take up the game of golf . It is a long-established club and one of the oldest in Portugal . Recent improvements have been made to its original design by the much celebrated course architect , Howard Swan . The course can be found in a popular seaside resort along the north coast , running adjacent to the golden beaches of Espinho and Porto . Sand dunes and stunning ocean views are widespread on this exciting course . Full catering and clubhouse facilities are available after your round in a friendly and welcoming environment .

Quinta do Fojo

In stark contrast to the bigger courses in the area , Quinta do Fojo is a pleasant 6-hole course that plays to a total of par-60 , when played three times . Unveiled in 1997 , this enjoyable course is located across the river from Porto , and is popular for midweek golfers . Quinta do Fojo is perfect for sharpening your short game and practising a variety of shots .

Quinta da Barca

In 1997 , the Quinta da Barca 9-hole course was opened for play . It ’ s gentle design of five par-3s and four par-4s plays to over 3,800 metres ( for 18 holes ) from the back tees . The greens can be quite undulating and cleverly placed bunkers and lakes provide plenty of challenges . For the second loop of nine holes there are different tee boxes which create new challenges . With a magnificent setting along a river bank , the course is located at Esposende . It is supported by a marina , spa , restaurants , shopping malls , and two aparthotels with a swimming-pool and tennis courts .

Amarante

Designed by Jorge Santana da Silva , Amarante is an 18-hole par- 68 course that opened for play in 1997 . Only a short 30-minute drive from Porto City Centre , the golf course and its sister hotel , Casa da Calcada , are located in the town of Amarante on the Quinta da Deveza estate . Testimony to its design and maturity , the course was quickly chosen to host the National PGA Championships in 1999 and 2000 . With the towering mountains of Marao and Aboboreira as its backdrop , the setting of Amarante is typical of the stunning mountainous scenery of Northern Portugal . Its waterfalls and lakes are a welcome addition to the tumbling landscape and thrilling holes .

Vale Pisáo

The Vale Pisão Golf Course has 9 holes ( par 37 , 3,266 meters ), a putting green and a practice range . The course layout follows the flow of the terrain , fitting in naturally with the landscape and taking advantage of the slopes , the vegetation and streams . This gives a varied layout , with interesting and balanced challenges , where shorter holes of evident beauty and strategy are mixed with more challenging holes . It has been designed to be environmentally responsible which adds to the experience of playing here . The uphill , par-5 5th is a beauty , driving from a high tee , across a valley and onto a rising fairway .
