The Family Medical Centres of Dr Robin Thomson and
Dr Thomas Kaiser have been recognized equally as centres of
excellence by residents and travelling golfers alike.

The two clinics are situated in enviable locations. Dr Kaiser’s
consultation rooms are located in Vale do Lobo overlooking
the third green of the Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course,
which hosts one of the most famous holes in Europe.
Dr Thomson’s is located right in between the first and tenth
hole of the Quinta do Lago South Course, voted the best
Golf Course in Europe by the World Golf Awards 2014.
What makes the work of these two doctors special is the
friendliness of their whole team and the speed of access
to any diagnostic or therapeutic procedure. The doctors
are proud to admit that they have many patients who are
famous personalities from the arts and sports industries.
The Medical Practice was founded 27 years ago by keen
golfer Dr Thomson, who pursued his idea of creating a
private hospital of international residents and tourists to the
Algarve.
Dr Kaiser a semi professional tennis player in his younger
years, joined him 15 years ago, having been a GP partner in
a well-established practice in Surrey, before moving to the
sunnier climates of Portugal.
Both GPs have more than 25 years of professional
experience and pride themselves on providing a 5 star
medical service for the whole family, which is based on

Dr Kaiser was one of the lead doctors in the opening of the
fantastic new private “Hospital Particular” in Faro, which is
located 15 minutes from the clinic and only 5 minutes from
Faro Airport. Dr Kaiser ran the emergency department from
the opening day in December 2009 and is now the Director
of the International Health Department of the HPA Saude
Group, which is one of the fastest growing middle size
businesses in Europe.
Dr Thomson is a senior tutor for the final year students at
St Barts Hospital in London and also other UK hospitals.
He is the Medical Director of the well-known Monte da
Palhagueira Residential Nursing Home in the hills of Faro.
