Gailes has hosted major championship tournaments through the years and was
designed by legendary golf architect Willie Park Jnr of Musselburgh. It was
opened in 1892 by Glasgow Golf Club, the 9th oldest golf club in the world.

winter golf in Scotland. It is a world class links course which attracts players
from every corner of the globe. Gailes Links is an R&A preferred championship
links course in Ayrshire close to Open venues at Royal Troon and Turnberry.
Scottish golfing legend Colin Montgomerie secured a place in The 145th Open
at Royal Troon in Final Qualifying at Gailes Links.
