When it comes to par-5s at Glasson, you’re spoilt for choice. The 14th, at 566 yards is a superb three-shot hole and one of the top par-5s in Ireland. The drive must be straight or you’ll be OOB with the dairy cattle. However, those brave enough to take on the bunker at the corner of the dog-leg and make the shot will be justly rewarded. The view from the elevated tee is one of the best on the course-and that’s saying something! The second shot is no less demanding; you’ll have to thread your shot between a waste area to the left and a lake to the right. The approach must give the water to the left of the green a wide berth. There is little doubt that Glasson is one of Westmeath’s best known golf gems and a real must-do on the Irish golf circuit.
