Dublin was founded on the River Liffey by the Vikings , in 841 A . D ., and the city embraces that rich sense of history . Getting around Dublin is easy , with numerous tours and public transport systems . Some of the best ways to experience the city include the hop-on-hop-off bus , the Dublin bus network and the Luas ( tram ).

Within the city itself there are several architectural styles embracing the ages , from the medieval quarter to the Georgian quarter to the new tech quarter , located in Grand Canal Dock .
