THE HERITAGE
The Heritage Golf Club , a par-72 championship course , was co-designed by the legendary Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes and opened for play in 2004 . The testing layout is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Co Laois with the Slieve Bloom Mountains as backdrop and your constant companion over all 18 holes . The variety of tees allows the course to be played from 5,747 to 7,319 yards and the limestone land ensures a magnificent playing surface all year round .
A true Championship course , the Heritage played host venue to the Seve Trophy in 2007 , commonly known as the Vivendi Seve Trophy , which pitted Continental Europe ’ s leading players against their counterparts from Great Britain & Ireland . In September 2007 all eyes were on The Heritage as Nick Faldo took charge of the GB & I Team against the Continental European Team . The Heritage Golf Club also hosted the Irish Seniors Open in 2005 and has been the host of The Heritage Challenge Pro-Am since 2011 . In 2016 , the Club hosted The Heritage Challenge Pro-Am in aid of The Seve Ballesteros Foundation .
