acclaimed Lough Erne Resort to launch the inaugural
Lakeland Golf Challenge 2020 – a new competition
offering amateurs the chance to play two of the finest
inland courses on the Emerald Isle. Taking place from
June 17-18 next year, the 36-hole event is open to men
and women and features a round of golf on both the
award-winning Faldo Championship Course at the
Lough Erne Resort and at PGA National Ireland.

annual Messinia Pro-Am,
at Costa Navarino, in February, is attracting interest
worldwide, with golfers from more than 20 countries
already registered to take part. Amateur golfers have
until January 10 to register for the final remaining
places for a tournament that promises world-class
golf across Costa Navarino’s Dunes and Bay courses,
and an itinerary full of activities, social functions, and
great weather.

course, in the north of
the island near Alcudia, hosted its maiden European
Tour-sanctioned event as Italian Francesco Laporta
secured a two-stroke victory and cemented his place
as Challenge Tour number one with a six-under-par
winning total. The course and the venue passed its
examination with flying colours and director of golf,
Kristoff Both, believes all the hard work and the cost
of around E200,000 was all worthwhile. The Portuguese Open at
Royal Óbidos 2020 will
take place from September 17 to 20, 2020, with Pro-
Am on Wednesday, September 16. One hundred forty-
four players will be up for grabs for the E200,000.00
prize money in a 72 hole (four-round) tournament
with Cut after 36 holes where the top 60 players (+
draws) qualify.
