The Fancourt
“Tee off in Paradise” sounds like marketing hyperbole, but in this instance
it might not actually do justice to the Fancourt as a whole.
Yes - the golfers will certainly feel as if they have ended up in a terrestrial
version of a golfing heaven with not one, but three magnificent Gary
Player designed layouts on their doorstep, all of which are ranked in the
top 15 courses in South Africa.
Fancourt Clubhouse
The first of these is Fancourt a five star hotel with 115 rooms and the
second is The Manor House, a historical boutique all-suite hotel with 18
suites.
And into this sybaritic mix you can add an award winning spa with roman
bath, sauna, steam room, tepidarium and plunge pool and 4 on site
restaurants, 2 of which have Diners Club Diamond Award winning wine
lists.
There is also a great on site kids club and teen lounge with various indoor
and outdoor activities, a leisure centre with indoor heated pool, outdoor
pool, gym, tennis courts and the Poolside Café.
Notwithstanding its thoroughly deserved and hard won reputation as
a premier leisure resort and golfing Mecca in Africa, the Fancourt, set
in a beautifully landscaped 613 hectares of lush countryside with the
Outeniqua Mountains as its majestic backdrop, is also one of the region’s
best and most complete family vacation destinations.
If we then top this all off with numerous on site activities including
walking trails, cycling and fishing in on site dams, the traveller will be faced
with a serious ‘stay at home’ challenge, and it’s therefore little wonder
that many visitors stay on site at the Fancourt for their entire vacation.

The resort’s setting on the Garden Route means that a variety of scenic
attractions, fabulous beaches and the Indian Ocean, known locally as
the “Golden Triangle” of authentic experiences and activities, are only a
stone’s throw away.
However these temptations might be difficult to make time for if you
have chosen to stay at one of the Fancourt’s two accommodation
options.
