The Champions Tour took its second
event of 2020 to Marrakech in late
January, the first time the tournament
is staged in Africa! The professional
senior golf tour for men over 50 years
of age and organized by the PGA Tour of America is
played mainly in the United States but also travels the
world. Samanah Golf Club by Nicklaus was chosen as
the host venue for the inaugural ‘Morocco Champions’
where 66 legends of the game battled for the title with
the snow-capped Atlas Mountains providing the iconic
background.

The recommendation comes from Peter Walton, Chief
Executive of global golf tourism organisation IAGTO,
which has just released its fifth annual golf tourism survey.
According to Walton, strong performances all around in
2019 and healthy forward bookings for 2020 “now have to
be set against the cloud of the Covid-19 outbreak in China
which has had an impact beyond its borders”.

sustainability to maintain Quinta do Lago’s position as
one of Europe’s leading resorts.
