PGA
Catalunya
Resort
Set amongst the imposing hills of the snow-capped
Pyrenees lies the much celebrated PGA Catalunya
Resort, on Catalonia’s Costa Brava coastline.
The PGA Catalunya golf course has been voted one
of the ten best golf courses in Europe by Golf World
magazine, one of the many accolades and rewards
that has been bestowed on this stunning course.
It truly is a stunning place with the Pyrenees as a
backdrop, which only adds to the magic.
The PGA Catalunya Stadium course is set on
undulating land with evergreens, oak trees and
heather lining its perfect fairways. It is a technical
course which suits professionals and amateurs of a
good standard and boasts some truly spectacular
holes. Opened in 2005, the Tour Course has been
planned and laid in the same meticulous way as the
championship course but offers wider fairways and
larger greens.
Extensive practise facilities include the Sergio
Garcia Junior Academy, a superb collaboration in
conjunction with The Sergio Garcia Foundation to
“train the next elite golfers and to make golf more
accessible to children”. The Resort also boasts the
luxury 4-star Meliá Golf Vichy Catalan hotel.
PGA Catalunya hosted the Spanish Open in 2000,
2009 and again in 2014. The perfect venue for
hosting prestigious tournaments, Spain proudly
announced Catalunya as their destination
candidate to host The 2022 Ryder Cup – with PGA
Catalunya Resort chosen as the proposed stage for
golf’s biggest confrontation between Europe and
the United States. This is a fitting acknowledgement
for the resort which was recently awarded
European Golf Resort of the Year 2015.
