Catalunya brings its ‘A GAME’
Catalunya is a location that is hard to compare
as holiday destination. It’s history; among one of
the oldest in Europe, a Capital; Barcelona, which
never sleeps and an inland; full of quaint charm,
not to forget beautiful beaches in La Costa Brava
and beyond. The variety of artistic treasures, the
Romanesque churches and the great names in
modern art and architecture including Dali, Gaudi
and Picasso to name a few.
Not just centrally located in one of the major hubs
of Europe with direct flights from most European
cities at increasingly competitive rates – Barcelona’s
location between the sea and the mountains, has
found a formidable balance: a foot in the traditional
things and the other in the avant-garde. Barcelona
has the reputation of being the most cosmopolitan,
modern and avant-garde city in Spain.
Its patchwork of architectural styles displays dark,
Gothic façades next to the harlequin buildings of the
Modernistas and the skyline-piercing constructions
and a day spent admiring them can be topped off
with a sundowner on one of the city’s seven beaches
before dinner at any number of Michelin-starred
gastronomic temples or humble, family-run tapas
bars. Or why not take a day trip to Torres Winery,
visits to the winery in Barcelona have quickly become
a fantastic option for an alternative “après golf” or
“free day” away from the golf course.
This is a city with a proud sense of identity, one
