Vattanac Golf Resort

Garden City

Garden City Golf Club opened in April 2013 and immediately emerged as one of the best golf courses in Phnom Penh . The par-72 golf course is laid out on 240 acres 15 kilometers northeast of downtown Phnom Penh . The course conditioning from using Seashore Paspalum turf and operations management consulting by IMG is excellent and comparable with the top courses in the region . The layout was conceived by architect Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak , who also is responsible for excellent designs at Suwan and Sea Pines in Thailand and Phokeethra in Siem Reap . The overall design goal was to create a challenging course for professional golfers yet playable for golfers of modest skill .

Vattanac Golf Resort is a luxurious , award winning golf resort in the bustling , contemporary , and exciting city of Phnom Penh , Cambodia . Boasting 36-holes of Championship Golf designed by Sir Nick Faldo and managed by Troon , it is widely recognized as the best in the country , yet only a short , 35-minute drive from the Phnom Penh city centre . Both the East and West Course of the Vattanac Golf Resort provide a spectacular setting around famous cultural expressions that include scale models of Khmer historical architectural sites , such as UNESCO Heritage Site Angkor Wat , Preah Vihear , Terrace of the Elephants , and Bayon .

Siem Reap ( Booyoung )

The Siem Reap Booyoung Country Club is the third international standard golf course opened in Angkor Wat . The $ 150 million US dollar course took one year to construct and is located 6 kilometers from the center of Siem Reap town . The course designer Kentaro Sato is a well-known Japanese golf course designer . With five sets of tees , the course is suitable for both beginners and the most accomplished golfers . Both nines open with long par 5 ’ s , which is a bit unusual . Additionally , the harshest par 4 ’ s are saved for holes 9 and 18 . Other unique features are palm-lined fairways and meandering creeks that cross several of the holes .

Ankor Golf Resort

The world-class Faldo designed Angkor Golf Resort is one of the best golf courses in Cambodia . The six-time major winner , Nick Faldo himself , received a blessing from local monks and then opened the golf course in December 2007 , his first golf course in Cambodia . The fairways , and greens are all maintained as you would expect from a Faldo designed , and managed golf course . The latest Paspalum turf ensures excellent year-round playing conditions . The Siem Reap golf course is a fair test of golf for all players and requires thinking and strategy on every hole to score well . The greens have plenty of subtle undulations , and they reward and encourage a variety of approach shots . The final three holes make up some of the most challenging , but fun , holes on the Angkor Resort golf course .
