Just 35 kilometers west of Bangkok , Nikanti is perhaps Asia ’ s first 18-hole , par-72 course comprising three six-hole layouts , each individual layout consisting of two par threes , two par fours and two par fives . Designed by Pirapon Namatra the course allows for starts at three different points on the course in addition to flexibility in number of holes played . Measuring 6,789 yards from the back tees , Nikanti is certainly challenging even for scratch golfers . All-inclusive rates include : green fee ; golf cart with GPS technology ; caddie fee ; and meals before , during and after each round .
Blue Canyon
Blue Canyon in Phuket is recognised as a world championship golf course which continually ranks as one of Thailand ’ s best golf courses . The course , set in an abandoned tin mine , displays old strip mine characteristics throughout the property . Streams filled with rust-colored water , canyons with sheer cliffs exposing red and white tin ore-laden rock , and tailings from former mining operations are a few of the many throwbacks to days of time gone . Blue Canyon has a large clubhouse , with three restaurants , wellstocked pro shop , lockers and shower facilities , massage and spa .
Red Mountain
Converted from an old tin mine and opened in 2007 , it is considered one of the country ’ s most spectacular 18 holes . British designer Jonathan Morrow has cleverly weaved the layout through some incredible landscapes making it the hilliest course on the island . Here you definitely need a golf cart . Around each corner are some unique holes , even their par 3 17th is literally down an old mine shaft . A very memorable round of golf to be experienced here .
Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao
Formerly known as Soi Dao Highlands , this is a true country golf course off the beaten track from the main tourist areas of Thailand , close to Chanthaburi . The 18 holes are surrounded by the majestic and mist-covered Pong Nam Ron mountains of Soi Dao , with an abundance of forests , native hardwood trees , creeks , lakes , and colorful flora . The course offers a combination of a number of raised tee boxes , fairly flat fairways , strategically placed bunkers , and some large undulating greens .
