DESTINATION GOLF ASIA 2023

Overview of the Rest of SE Asia

SE Asia as a golf destination especially for international golf vacationers is now on many players ’ bucket lists . Although a large percentage of rounds take place in established countries such as Thailand , Malaysia , and now Vietnam , there are other regions offering some excellent golf challenges as well . The other countries in the region worth noting are the Philippines and Singapore .
The Philippines
Still relatively new for international golfers the Philippines has over 101 known golf courses spread out throughout 5000 of those islands . Weatherwise the country is known for its typhoons which occur normally between September and October . The Philippines ’ hottest months are April and May , with the coldest months experienced during December , January , and February . Many courses here are private clubs , however , using a local tour operator it is normally possible to get tee times mainly during the week .

Singapore
There are thirteen Golf Courses in Singapore Including Country Clubs & Driving Ranges . For an island as tiny as Singapore , you might be surprised to know that these courses take up about two percent of the expensive land . Golf is expensive here and a recent survey found that locals could incur annual costs ranging from S $ 2,500 up to S $ 40,000 .
It ’ s common knowledge that most country clubs have special rates for members , but Marina Bay Golf Course is the only public 18- hole course on the island , meaning you won ’ t have to fork out extra for non-membership prices . There are several world-class courses that have played host to multiple international events including Sentosa Golf Club and Laguna National Golf and Country Club .
