FUTURE CONCEPT

When the 2023 Something in the Water festival, which was envisioned by the renowned music producer Pharell Williams , took center stage at Virginia Beach, one of the standout features was the impressive sand pyramid designed by Louis Vuitton. The grand scale and the incorporation of the brand's logo certainly caught the attention of a lot of passerbys even before the actual event day. This was a great opportunity to witness because as we envision the future of festival design, it shows that there is tremendous potential for Louis Vuitton and other brands to push the boundaries of innovation and create more interactive and engaging experiences that can captivate festival-attendees, both day and night.

While we were on site by coincidence, we were able to see that, Louis Vuiton's sand pyramid at Something in the Water festival showcased the brand's commitment to making a bold statement through artistic design. Its size and incorporation of their signature trunk luggage imagery undoubtedly left a lasting impression on attendees.

While the sand pyramid was visually appealing during the daytime, we couldn't help but think that there was an opportunity to elevate the experience by incorporating more innovative elements. For instance, integrating dynamic lighting features within the structure could have transformed it into a mesmerizing spectacle at night, captivating the thousands of festival-attendees in a memorable way. By exploring technologies such as programmable LEDs or projection mapping, or augmented reality, Louis Vuitton and other brands can create immersive experiences that bring their designs to life and leave a lasting impact on festival attendees.
