Contents Issue 29 2017 Front Cover Project: MT House Features | Architect: Telles Arquitetura | Photographer: André Scarpa Products & Services 04-08 The Farmer’s house The Farmer’s House acts as the UK base for AR Design Studio’s clients, who return to the English countryside from their travels to tend to their farmstead. 17 Arbour House 09-16 23-28 34-37 41-45 48-49 50-53 60-67 68-71 72-75 77 78-79 82-83 The client, a young professional, approached us to extend her small 1950’s infill terraced house in Peckhamto create a more usable kitchen and dining area with a better connection to the rear garden. 20-22 FF House The concept of the project originates due to the physical parameters of the terrain - steep slope due to its location in the Cordillera de los Andes - and the client requirements of 4 single- family homes of 300 m2. 32-33 A_Z House A modest home expands through aggregation, multiplying scaled versions of the original A-type pulled along a twisted Z axis. 36 Minimalist Jonathan Tuckey Design has completed a project for Egg, a fashion boutique known for its minimalist approach to the clothes it stocks and the way they are presented to the buyer, acting more like a gallery than a traditional shop. 38-40 CASA SFA The SFA house is a refurbishment project that is faithful to the client’s specific requirements. Arqmov Workshop initially suggested a brand new project, given the previous (quite unfortunate) refurbishment work on the property. 46-47 RED House Working with developer Arrant Land, 31/44 Architects has completed a new speculative development on an end-of-terrace plot in East Dulwich, south London. The building is discreet, but its pure lines show great strength of character. The materials used are contemporary, but the whole fits in perfectly with the protected site.
