FUTURE HOUSING COMPETITION
This competition provided architects with a unique and
challenging opportunity to consider how mass market housing
can be re-designed and re-imagined for modern 21st Century
living. The challenge to meet the changing demands of a
variety of customer groups up to 2020 and beyond is one
which both architects and house builders will need to embrace
if they are to find a sustainable solution to the housing problem
in this country.
Artform Architects’ submission was shortlised to the final 6 out
of 120 entries from 14 different countries.
The approach we took was to focus on the requirements and
aspirations of home owners both in the present day and how
they are likely to change moving forwards. Understanding
what people want and need from their homes has informed our
design process throughout the development of our submission.
