Lindapter CE Marked Hollo-Bolts Specified
For Central Square, Leeds
The multi-million U-shaped building is
structured around a large fully glazed
winter garden with a modern exposed
steel design. The atrium framework is
secured with Lindapter’s CE Marked
Hollo-Bolts which connect structural
hollow section back to circular hollow
section to form five bowstring trusses.
The 27m-tall trusses support a large
balcony on level 8 and allow all floors to
benefit from natural daylight.
Lindapter’s countersunk M16 HolloBolt was chosen to secure the beams and
splice connections because of their high
clamping force, independent product
approvals and discrete architectural
finish. The simple installation required
access from one side only and did not
require drilling or welding, helping the
contractors to complete the project on
time.
In addition to the atrium structure,
Lindapter composite decking fixings
were used for suspending building
services throughout the entire 12 storey
office building, including the first two
floors which are dedicated to retail,
leisure and health and fitness.

As a British pioneer with over 80
years’ experience in designing and
manufacturing steel-to-steel connections,
Lindapter has an extensive range of
independent product approvals. Although
Lindapter invented the first blind
fastener in 1948, the range has developed
significantly and today the Hollo-Bolt
is available in various architectural head
types, lengths and finishes.
