Has replaced the preventative conservation measures throughout
Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace, and Kew Palace.
The museum-grade clear UV filters on the glass were replaced, and the new
dark-brown sunscreen (perforated) blind material not only greatly diffuses sunlight, but its colour blends in with the windows. This allows visitors to see the
landscaped grounds without raising the blinds. The blinds are also barely
noticeable from the exterior, avoiding an uneven appearance that lightercoloured fabrics can give. Secondary brown blackout blinds were also installed
where especially sensitive objects are displayed.
