CIAT Awards for 2016
This year we are celebrating over 21 years of rewarding the best of the best in Architectural
Technology and recognising its development, reach and importance in optimising the design
of buildings relating to the function, performance and use, efficiency and effectiveness of their
construction and environmental impact and sustainability.

The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) Awards are recognised and
regarded as the premier accolades that demonstrate outstanding achievement in
Architectural Technology.
2016 Award deadlines and timetable
There are two Award categories:

for projects with no financial limit for The Award for Excellence in Architectural
Technology
●
for projects with a value no greater than £750k for The Alan King Award.
The CIAT Awards for Excellence in Architectural Technology run from 12 February 2016 until 1 July 2016.
Why enter the Awards?
To gain recognition for you, your practice and your project for its excellence in the
technology of architecture.

They are open Awards, which allows individuals and/or practices from all built
environment disciplines to enter for projects of all sizes — there are no restrictions
●
The entries are rigorously judged and peer assessed by highly experienced Chartered
Architectural Technogists
●
Award winners receive promotion across the Institute in print and online and featured
on ciat.org.uk
●
If your entry is shortlisted you can promote this to your clients, potential clients
and all other networks and colleagues and have use of the Awards logo
●
Winners and their projects will be featured in a specially printed booklet, the
Institute’s magazine AT and through our social media channels.

Who can enter?

These Awards are open to all individuals and/or practices and projects of all sizes (whole,
or part of) but which must have been completed within the last five years.
Criteria for entry
Shortlisted entries are announced on Tuesday 2 August 2016 and the winners and Awards
will be announced and presented at the President’s Ball to be held in Southampton on
Saturday 12 November 2016.
Submissions will be assessed in terms of their design context, concept and creativity
