Hi , my name is Marc and I ' m a reno addict . I can ' t seem to ever stop renovating . I ' m always changing something around and giving spaces a makeover . I think it ' s a curse of sitting at the helm of a national home décor magazine . I ' m blessed to have firsthand access to all the newest trends and get a sneak peek at what is coming up before it hits shelves . And let ' s face it , trends are constantly changing and evolving . Trends are like children , you blink and they are changing again .
Our girls seem to be growing up so fast . My oldest has recently started asking for her own bedroom . When we launched the Marc and Mandy Show , the kids were so young and close in age that we put them in the same room and took up the adjoining bedroom as a massive walk-in closet where we hold the overflow of our TV wardrobe and a makeup area for Mandy . This seemed like the natural choice as we needed the space to keep up with the demands of an extensive TV wardrobe but now that Ella is growing up , she wants to reclaim her original bedroom . I guess that means it ' s time for a reno ! On the agenda is a new walk-in closet and Ella ' s very own bedroom so that her sister will “ stop bugging her ” as she says .
It ' s only fitting that we start a renovation as we just finished the build of our brand new cottage that we filmed for the Marc and Mandy Show ! We are very excited that you ' ll follow us on our building adventure in a few months ( launching on TV Feb 25 )! There were many ups and downs in our journey , which is thankfully behind us now , and we can ' t wait to create memories in our new property . It was truly a labor of love ( See Marc and Mandy ' s Cottage Build on Page 18 ).
Well , I can honestly say that things never seem to slow down in the Atiyolil household but what a wonderful journey it has been ! Here ' s to the next renovation and many more adventures to come !
