The transformation began by stripping away the angular walls on the main floor and introducing a sturdy steel beam to liberate the kitchen and family room . The rear of the house opened up , inviting additional glazing to connect seamlessly with the backyard . The stairs , a relic of the past , were reconfigured for optimal use of space .
The heart of the home , the kitchen , underwent a metamorphosis . Large glass sliding doors ushered in light , creating a link between the kitchen , family room , and the outdoors . The design centered around symmetry , featuring a prominent stove flanked by tall anchors , connected by a beautiful wood frame . A coffee station , hidden behind piano-hinged doors , added a touch of practical elegance . Neutral tones dominated the kitchen , with white oak and soft gray providing a canvas for the exquisite quartzite countertop and backsplash .
