After having lived in various places throughout out the world , the owners of this home wanted a space full of color , inspired by global travels and overseas living . In the kitchen , a neutral , West Coast inspired foundation of natural woods , charcoal and white walls created the perfect backdrop for bold color that infuses a sophisticated sense of playfulness . A recycled glass backsplash tile from California was a bit of a splurge but it was the perfect choice to tie all the colors together . The home ' s master bedroom had a small closet and two-piece bathroom that did not suit the homeowners ’ needs . An underused spare bedroom allowed for an ensuite with a freestanding tub , large walkin shower , double vanity and linen storage . The existing bathroom and closet were combined to create a large walk-in closet . To continue the color story into this space , a color palette of bold turquoise and aqua colors was paired with soft warm grays and natural rift-cut oak . - Studio AE Interior Design , www . studioaeinteriors . com
