For my video I decided to do 3 interviews with people who grew up in different decades. Due to these people not all living near me I sent them all the same questions which they then videoed themselves answering. Each of their videos taught me something I didn't know about the person, and taught me new information about the decades. When choosing the people I wanted to interview I thought carefully about what decades each person would speak about and the interest I had in those decades. My video covers the decades the 60’s, 80’s and 90’s, I have an interest in each of these decades for different reasons.

If I could live in any decade I would chose the 60’s due to the fun atmosphere of the time, I am a big fan of the film “Hairspray” and ever since it came out I've been fascinated with the fashion and music of the time. I would love to be able to live my life as it is now and then time travel back to the 60’s so I can see for myself how much things have changed not just in fashion but in society as well in regards to racism and discrimination. As a teenaged girl I think it would also be interesting to see how different my life would have been if I had lived then.

I chose to look at the 80’s in my video as this was the decade which both my mum and dad were teenagers so it's a decade that stands out to me. I am constantly reminded of this decade due to my parents constant nostalgia, including 80’s music and endless stories. I found it interesting to look at the sorts of clothes they wore compared to the clothes I wear now and how our teenage years were similar and different. I also found it interesting the wide range of subcultures at the time and how much fashion varied.

The last era I chose to include was the 90’s as I feel the 90’s have the biggest impact on the way I dress and the trends which are current today. I also found it the most relatable as it wasn't as long ago as the other decades. Although the 80’s and 90’s were only 10 years apart I felt a lot changed with in fashion during this time so thought it was okay to do them both.

For the 60’s I interview my Grandad, Shaun who was a teenager in the 60’s and played in a band at the time so his fashion was very influenced by the music of the time. For my 80’s interview I interview Fran, my mum's best friend from school who was a punk in the 80’s and still plays in punk band now, so it clear her fashion is influenced by the subculture. For the 90’s I interviewed Sabrina, my cousin, a fashion blogger who grew up during the 90’s know for her 90’s style.
