Inspirational Lace!

There are many things that inspire me. Many times, friends and family are all
it takes to propel me to do something. The Lace Issue is one of those inspirations. I am so grateful for the many people that have stepped into my life that
have pushed me to create and design such a wonderful fashion avenue not just
for many out there in Denver but for myself as well. This issue has to be one of
my favorites (all the issues are, of course, but this issue has so much soul) thus
far because of what it means and how it brought many of my friends and family
together.
The Lace Issue was mainly inspired by my dear friend Amanda Wines, who is
featured on page 36. Amanda loves lace; she lives for it! When she asked me,
"Would you ever do a lace issue?" It took me a while to think about how the
DenVhere crew and myself could make lace fashionable without being aimed
towards lingerie and, sure enough, we found a way! We finally got around to
the idea of lace and made it happen in this issue! Not only was Amanda
featured, but I had some more of my friends and an important family
member featured as well.
Maurie Mickey, who is our main cover and featured model this issue, has
inspired me in all ways of my life. She’s not only a friend, but also someone I
can call a role model for those of us trying to find ourselves in life. When
picking a model for the cover, she was an easy choice.
On page 40, my sister, Alexa is featured for the first time ever, wearing a light
teal lace dress that she wore to prom. I am so proud of her for how wonderful
her pictures came out, since I also did the photography for her and Amanda. I
am so happy that this issue is finally out for the world to see, as many amazing
people worked on it as well as being featured in it!
