Meet Sarah Sarah Richardson has been a key fixture of the Canadian design world since starting out in 1995, working behind the scenes as a prop stylist and set decorator. By the late 90s, Sarah realized that she could carve a niche in the emerging world of design TV by sharing her practical, endearing and inspiring approach to décor and design with viewers. Seventeen years later, Sarah is the host, co-creator and co-producer of over 250 episodes of design television that span seven hit HGTV series targeted directly to the needs of a contemporary audience. Room Service, Design Inc., Sarah’s House, Sarah’s Cottage, Sarah’s Rental Cottage, Sarah 101, and Real Potential are a collection of lifestyle television series dedicated to tackling the demands and design challenges of modern living. DON'T FORGET THE ACCENTS! The final touch in my Monogram kitchen is the accent of natural walnut. The live edge solid walnut shelves add a subtly soft tactile element that is echoed in the hexagonal counter stools I designed (which reflect the backsplash and pendant profiles) as well as the wood accents throughout the space. A backsplash is a necessity for durability, but it’s so much more than simply a functional element - it’s often regarded as the jewellery in any kitchen and this one is no exception, but I’ve gone one step further in celebrating its decorative impact by installing a smaller scale mosaic on the inset panel of the custom vent hood. For all the homeowners who’ve found a dramatic backsplash that they want to celebrate — here’s your chance to let it shine! When it comes to creating your ultimate kitchen statement, just remember… it’s the little details that make all the difference! Known for her upbeat and easygoing approach to creating elegant and timeless designs for every room in the home, Sarah inspires and empowers viewers by effortlessly sharing her winning style formula. Sarah's enthusiasm for all aspects of design is infectious, and her ability to engage and inspire viewers has earned her a loyal and dedicated fan base across North America and around the world. Sarah’s programs are seen in over 100 countries worldwide. Sarah is the author of two best-selling books for international powerhouse publisher, Simon & Schuster. Sarah Style was published in November 2014 and At Home: Sarah Style in November 2015. In addition to being a past contributor for The Globe and Mail and Chatelaine, Sarah was Home Design Director for Good Housekeeping Magazine for Hearst Corporation.
