ENG . YOUNG AT HEART
In Martina Franca , in Apulia , a 100-sqm renovation has given energy and character to this abode , the perfect place for the young couple who lives there .
Two young artists in their thirties – without children , passionate about art and graphics , and who have turned their passion into their job – have commissioned ABBW – Angelo Bruno Building Workshop to create a house with spaces , shapes and design in line with their character . The targeted choices of the design and furnishing project have thus given this flat a style that is more appropriate for the young couple . The interior spaces , compared to the original project , have been completely redesigned and have come to life through a very thorough study of demolitions and constructions . The minimal entrance with a cupboard wall and guest bathroom leads to the sitting area which , together with the living area , creates a single large and bright environment . An arch with an important lighting element was designed from scratch to act as a filter between the living area and the kitchen . The furniture has been tailor-designed and customized , in order to give light and dynamism to the environment . From the living area , a small hallway divides the two bedrooms – one of which includes a large and bright walk-in closet – from the bathroom , marked by the continuity of materials between the floor and the wall . The renovation did not only result in the new arrangement of spaces , but also in the adjustment of solar thermal systems , with a double exchange boiler to supplement the heat pump . In the end , the quality of the property was improved by the installation of the new wood-effect stoneware floor , as well as by the study and construction of bathrooms with custom-made furnishings . Architect Angelo Bruno told us : “ In my way of designing , I always try to establish a relationship between the project and the existing elements ; I also focus on following the customers ’ requests in the best possible way , understanding their wishes and their way of conceiving the new house . My strength lies in the passion I express for what I do , which in fact turns into projects that are always different and tailored to the customers . I believe that each environment has its own importance , especially in this project , where every single space has been carefully studied . Obviously , the most complex environment to conceive was the dining / living / kitchen area , where all the furnishings were also designed and custom-made by my studio . For me , every new project is a challenge that I face with a lot of passion because the goal is always the same : to create something unique , tailored to the customer .”
