New geometries
We are in Brianza and this renovation
project concerns a 50s abode, later
involved in changes and additions.
Refurbishments gave a brand-new
geometry to the villa. The result is an
abode with a contemporary and rigorous
design. Among its features: the fusion
between indoor and outdoor areas, the
fluid connection between domestic spaces,
furnishings built into the architecture, the
continuity and the coherence in the use
of materials and the selection of brands
that signed the different elements which
distinguish the various rooms.
When the choice falls on a modern decor,
the project must follow a concept that
favours clarity and intelligibility. The
highly-tactile effect of selected products is
essential; they contribute to creating the
final result.
Hence, different natural materials such
as wood for floorings, resin for walls and,
cotton for tapestry without neglecting
the clever use of colours that outline and
create spaces, sometimes by expanding
them and sometimes by making them
intimate, almost friendly. Everything with
the utmost respect for the residents’ needs.
Spaces have been redesigned to find
the right dimension and to respect the
mood, based on each family member,
therefore creating an overall balanced and
meaningful home environment without
being ordinary or predictable.
The choice of pieces of furniture
fully reflects the residents’ different
personalities and tastes.
This abode covers two levels. During the
renovation works, the ground floor — which
includes the living area, a kitchenette,
the sleeping area and a bathroom — has
been allocated to the two children while
the first floor — connected through an
intercommunication staircase —
is for the parents.
The fencing is made of COR-TEN steel, the
ground floor has a ventilated cladding in
Ipe wood that can be found in the terrace
flooring too. The blackout blinds are
branded by Griesser, aluminium doors a
nd windows by Schuco.
On the first floor, the living
area is accessible both via the
intercommunication spiral staircase by
Edilco — in concrete and clear casting resin
— and via the semicircular
outdoor staircase.
