RINASCITA SU PARK AVENUE
A New York, in Manhattan, nella zona più ricercata di Park Avenue, all’ interno di un edificio pre-war, con vista panoramica a Nord, Sud e Est dell’ Upper East side visitiamo questo appartamento di 450 metri quadrati completamente ristrutturato dallo Studio KA Design Group di New York. Inizialmente l’ abitazione si presentava come un grande spazio diviso in tante stanze e con poca luce. L’ idea di demolire e dare profondità agli ambienti donando più luce l’ ha reso molto elegante e sofisticato. La scelta della committenza sui colori è stata effettuata sin dall’ inizio dei lavori. Il desiderio era quello di una casa dai toni bianchi con tante gradazioni di grigio, fatta eccezione per la camera da letto padronale e la stanza degli ospiti. All’ ingresso spicca con la sua eleganza di forme e stile la consolle in marmo screziato bianco e nero disegnata da Stefano Di Luca, a contrasto con il quadro sopra dipinto dell’ artista Callum Innes: il tutto ci fa subito intuire i toni predominanti della casa. Un passaggio aperto ci introduce alla grande zona living ricca di poltrone e divani, voluti dai padroni di casa per ricevere in tutta comodità. L’ ampia sala comunica con la sala da pranzo: al centro un grande tavolo ovale per le cene più formali si discosta dagli altri due tavoli di forma quadrata volutamente posizionati sui lati della sala per cene meno formali. Attigua alla sala da pranzo la zona bar, anch’ essa collegata alla cucina con una porta a vetri. Per lo studio KA Design Group è stata una grande soddisfazione lavorare a questo progetto. I clienti, entusiasti del risultato finale, hanno iniziato ad abitare la casa ricevendo ospiti, trascorrendo giornate in famiglia e godendo della compagnia dei lori simpatici cani, anch’ essi curiosamente al centro del progetto... anch’ essi, cioè, padroni della nuova casa!

In Manhattan, in the most sought-after area of Park Avenue, inside a pre-war building with panoramic north, south, and east views over the Upper East Side, we visited this 450-square-metre apartment, fully renovated by Studio KA Design Group, based in NYC. Originally, the residence consisted of a large but fragmented layout with many rooms and limited natural light. The idea of opening up the spaces, creating depth and bringing in more light, transformed the home into an elegant and sophisticated interior. The colour palette was defined from the very beginning of the renovation: the owners envisioned a white base with multiple shades of grey throughout the home, with the exception of the master bedroom and the guest room. The entrance is graced by a striking black and white veined marble console designed by Stefano Di Luca, perfectly contrasted by a painting by Callum Innes above it; a first hint of the dominant tones of the apartment. An open passageway leads to the spacious living area, furnished with generous armchairs and sofas chosen by the owners to create a welcoming atmosphere for entertaining. The large living room connects seamlessly with the dining area, where a grand oval table for formal dinners is paired with two square tables placed deliberately along the sides, for more informal gatherings. Adjacent to the dining room, the bar area is also connected to the kitchen through a glass door. For Studio KA Design Group, this renovation was a truly rewarding project.
