The Zahir Country House is located a few kilometres from Noto , the capital and pearl of Sicilian Baroque , near the remains of the Greek colony of Eloro and the Vendicari Nature Reserve .
The Zahir Country Hotel has the typical shape of the ancient farms of the Sicilian countryside . It has 10 rooms , and each room is different from the other , all have their own warm and refined style . The 19th-century furniture contrasts with unique pieces of contemporary art and design that play in harmony with the Caltagirone ceramics or state-of-the-art ones , coming from agricultural waste and interpreted by the artistic flair of Chicco Margaroli . In addition , guests can take advantage of numerous green areas , they can enjoy the splendid swimming pool with a salt purification system , back hydromassage and two multi-jet whirlpools , as well as the solarium with sun loungers . There are several green areas where you can relax and admire the various works of art and installations placed in the structure and in the “ Soul Park ”, such as “ The Third Paradise ” by Michelangelo Pistoletto , created with an ancient variety of Sicilian wheat , called Russello . The countryside full of olive , almond , citrus and carob trees that surrounds the structure almost seems to preserve the tranquillity that characterizes the hotel . The Zahir Country House is partly the result of the vision of Alessia Montani and Luigi Grasso – the founders of M ’ AMA . ART – and partly the result of chance . After casually sleeping just one night in the hotel , the next morning , fascinated by the rigour of the ancient building and the position that made it magical , they asked the owner if he was available to sell the hotel .
Their offer was accepted , and the work began with enthusiasm , in order to turn the hotel into a new kind of tourist accommodation , by also introducing the idea of M ’ AMA . ART , which is a company that contaminates everyday life with art , organizing cultural events in Italy and abroad . Through an innovative multidisciplinary format , it combines art with law , business and sustainability . Alessia Montani told us : “ With M ’ AMA . ART , we initially created objects in synergy with the artists . We started with perfumes , then jewellery , fashion accessories and furnishing accessories . The idea is to blend art with the beauty and reality that surround us . We also explored the world of gourmet food by creating oil and the Franciacorta M ’ AMA . ART . Italy and the Mediterranean area have an indigenous plant heritage of inestimable value , which must be known and enjoyed .”
