I GIFT YOU A SOUL
Milan from above seems to embrace this house , while the buildings with a thousand glazed eyes wink at those who spy on them , inevitably , from the large openings that connect everyday domestic life with the frenzy of the city . We are at the top and the noises dissolve in the air , leaving enchanting scenery in the background , with roofs and spires that make up the unmistakable Milanese skyline … And it even seems to overlap and interact with the volumes of this enchanting flat , fresh from a makeover that has enhanced its features , making it a welcoming and elegant space . At the time of purchase , it was configured as an environment ready to live in , with the bathroom furnishings already present , but without a soul and lacking a final vision suited to the customers ’ needs . The new owners were conquered by the splendid panorama , with a view of the spires of the Milan Cathedral , which can be appreciated from the entrance door , further enhanced in the living room , given the full-height windows over a large part of the space , leading to the connected terrace . Compared to the initial state , the project carried out by the Archpiùditre studio has kept the general layout of the flat almost unchanged , adding some notes that made it more functional and harmonious . In the living area , steps were taken to enhance the perspective towards the outside by eliminating a dining room , separated by partitions , which blocked the view and removed light . According to a more contemporary way of living the house and using the spaces , the kitchen – once separated and relegated behind the previous dining room – has become part of the living room , to enjoy the view and socialize even during breakfast or while cooking . It was decided to keep the existing stone-effect stoneware throughout the living area , managing to reintegrate the portions with the same material . The possible feeling of coldness , given by the type of floor and the presence of glass and mirror furnishings , has been balanced with wallpaper in amber-golden tones and small details of parts of the furniture and accessories , always golden or in warm tones . In the sleeping area , the corridors leading to the two bedrooms have been eliminated , to create a single distribution environment , acting as wardrobe space . This allowed the elimination of a double walk-in closet in the master bedroom , which made the bed area absolutely narrow . The whole sleeping area has benefitted from the floor change : from a wood-effect stoneware to an oak parquet . Even the bathrooms have undergone changes , such as the replacement of the shower tub and some reclaimed furnishings that have been re-lacquered and marked by glass tops .
