a business setting that many students
wouldn’t normally get to experience.
“The Denton Chamber believes
in the importance of a strong
workforce. What better way to build
that than by helping young people
make well-informed decisions
about their future?” said Angelica
De Rosal, director of membership
and programs for the Chamber.
The event is open to Denton ISD
students and students from nearby
districts that attend classes at the
ATC. With so many local students
eager to learn about career
paths, De Rosal said the career
fair has the potential to develop
into a mentoring opportunity for
businesses and students or even a
direct pathway to entry level jobs
or internships.
The key to the experience
continuing to get better for
students lies in their ability to make
the most of it, said Tracy BaysBoothe, executive director of
the Greater Denton Arts Council,
during her participation in a panel
discussion on careers with a small
group of students.
“We have hundreds of applicants
wanting to be a part of our
organization – and that’s for an
internship that’s unpaid! So I advise
you to take advantage of every
opportunity you have to set yourself
apart and get your foot in the door
of the job or career you want,
Bays-Boothe told the group.
