Ryan High senior wins back-to-back championships at Fort Worth Stock
Show and Rodeo, National Open Gertrudis Show
For Taylor Terry, senior at Ryan High School, the
tradition of naming the heifers on the family’s
farm, Fulton Farms, after sweets doesn’t seem
unusual - after all it started with Taylor’s mother,
Suzanne Fulton, who named one of the original of
their herd “Chupa” after a Mexican lollipop.
“I’ve grown up in the business and had a hand in
naming new calves on the farm,” said Taylor. “Just
to name a few in the latest generation, there’s
Twinkie and Chicken Nugget, who are the daughter
of Honey Bun and Tootsie Roll, and the newest
addition is Milkshake.”
Recently, hardwork and making farming fun paid

off during the 2018 National Open Gertrudis Show
when “Honey Bun” was named Reserve Grand
Champion Female and “Tootsie Roll” was named
the Grand Champion Female and Best of
Polled Female.
At the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, each won
best of their class and once again, “Tootsie Roll”
was named the overall Grand Champion Female
and Best of Polled Female and “Honey Bun” was
named the Reserve Grand Champion Female.
The back-to-back wins were made even sweeter by
the fact that for almost three decades, the family
has been breeding, raising, and competitively
