District Spotlight Pecan Creek Elementary School
Pecan Creek Elementary is a place where students can grow and “ learn together to make the world a better place ” as the school ’ s mission states .
Since opening its doors in 2002 , Pecan Creek has attracted parental and community support by cultivating ideas that help its students become better learners and citizens . As a two-way , dual-language campus , the school is building an even broader connection by teaching students to realize the power of their education in two languages .
Students at Pecan Creek have multiple opportunities to learn more than just the elementary curriculum as running club , art club , service learning club , student council , choir and orchestra provide numerous creative , athletic and leadership outlets . The school ’ s families are known to join in on the fun too , helping sponsor fun events like the Jingle Bear Run , school dances and the fall festival .
