Revamped building design
has students, staff at new
Rodriguez Middle School
delighted to teach and learn.
The excitement level a new school brings depends on
several variables. With the opening of Dr. Rudy and
Rosemary Rodriguez Middle School, all the variables
have rolled into one – pure, unfiltered joy.
While a bevy of windows throughout the 176,100-square
foot, state-of-the-art campus bring in an abundance
of light and an airy feel throughout the building, the
attitudes shared by the students and staff take it
to another level. A little more than a month into the
opening of the district’s eighth middle school, it’s hard
to not run into a smiling student or an excited teacher
eager to tackle the next lesson.
“It’s more fun to be [at school] here because with the
windows, you can look into classrooms and see what
they look like and what’s going on,” said Kaydence
Chandler, a seventh grader. “But the funnest thing is
