Arista a Finalist for MLS Volunteer Award
J
osue Arista, who serves as an In School
Suspension instructional aide at Myers
Middle School, was recently named a
finalist for MLS Works and Wells Fargo
Community MVP award.
The philanthropic arm of Major League
Soccer, MLS Works recognizes volunteers
who go above and beyond to better
their community.
Mr. Arista was selected to represent FC
Dallas as one of only 20 finalists across the
United States and Canada for his work in
the community. Mr. Arista serves as the
co-sponsor of the Guys/Girls Operating
As Leaders (GOAL) program at Myers
and as the athletic coordinator for the
program. Under his supervision, Myers has
helped coordinate toy drives for Scottish
Rite Hospital, assisted with food drives for
Serve Denton and worked with FC Dallas

to get equipment donations for all ten
GOAL programs.
For being named a finalist, Mr. Arista
received $1,000 from MLS Works to
support GOAL and was recently
recognized at an FC Dallas game by the
club, where he had the honor of scarfing
the Lamar Hunt statue.
