elcome to the May issue of LIVING WELL Magazine, where
one of the themes this time around is featuring fiercely talented women in the community and beyond. One of those
women is our cover celebrity Julianne Moore. The 56-year-old actress
sports an impressive acting resume and has the awards to prove it. One
of her most notable roles was her 2015 portrayal of a woman with early
onset Alzheimer’s in the film, Still Alice, for which she was awarded
both a Golden Globe and an Oscar. What you might not know about
this stunning actress and author is that she wasn’t always the cool and
confident woman you see on the big screen. Read more about this accomplished redhead starting on page 6.
A little closer to home, we stop in with Julie Alvira, M.D., creator of AJBodysculpt. A health and wellness keynote speaker, writer, and coach,
she’s also a corporate wellness consultant, and fitness expert. In this
issue, Dr. Alvira tackles an important topic on cigar versus cigarette
smoking. While many people recognize cigarettes as harmful, as Dr. Alvira notes, cigars don’t carry the same stigma as cigarettes. She jumps
into the controversy on page 42 and explains why cigars aren’t a good
alternative for smokers.
Next up, we offer you an exclusive look into the 21st annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, one of the most exclusive automobile shows
in the nation. Learn more on page 24. Of course, we also have the
educational content you’ve come to expect from LIVING WELL. So, sit
back and enjoy.
