General Cosmetic Dentistry
Gooding Dental Health will undergo some big changes in 2025 and 2026! We are excited to welcome our new associate, Ji Yeon Hwang DMD, who will be starting with us in August 2025. Dr. Hwang was born and raised in South Korea, where she earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from Pusan National University in 2015. She worked there as a general dentist before moving to the United States to raise her family. Dr. Hwang has recently earned her doctor of medicine in dentistry degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and graduated magna cum laude. She currently lives in Barrington, Rhode Island, with her husband and two daughters. She is excited to join the team at Gooding Dental Health and looks forward to providing the same compassionate and quality dentistry that doctors Michael and Mia( Gooding) McQuesten have been providing their patients for years.

Gooding Dental Health will also be under new ownership in 2026, with Dr. Mia taking over as the new practice’ s new owner. She hopes to continue providing the same excellent care her father has provided to Rhode Islanders for the last forty years and looks forward to following in his footsteps.

JOEL PICARD, DDS
General Dentistry
DR. JOEL PICARD is a graduate of Georgetown University’ s School of Dentistry. He is a third generation dentist in his family practice, which was founded in 1941.
While Dr. Picard provides all types of dentistry, his expertise is in delivering advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Picard is an active member of the Seattle Study Club, an international dental organization focusing on innovative restorative treatment. He is also a member of the RI and American Dental Associations, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Picard received the RI Dental Association’ s Humanitarian Award for his volunteer work over the past twenty-eight years. He resides in Cumberland with his wife, Sarah, and his family and enjoys tennis, fishing and traveling.
