DORSAL TO THE MAX!
I’m a big fan of Dorsal devic-
es. They’re easy to wear, have
a high level of compliance,
and gosh darnit, patients
like them. There aren’t many
real shortcomings to Dorsal
devices except the fact that
they have a rather limited
protrusive range of motion,
typically around 6mm.
So, what do you do when
your patient’s Dorsal reach-
es the maximum protrusion,
but you need more advance-
ment? You could send it back
to the lab for adjustments.
That takes time, you may in-
cur the expense, but most
importantly, your patient
will be without their Dorsal.
I recommend you employ a
lil’ bit of Kentucky engineer-
ing and increase the ad-
vancement on your own.
