Denmark - introduction for bikers

In the summer the climate in Denmark is temperate, humid, overcast and mild. The Terrain is low and flat to gently rolling plains. The roads are among one of the best in the world - there are asphalt on even the smallest roads and they are usually in good condition.

Denmark is based in Northern Europe and is the smallest of the Scandinavian countries. The main part of it is Jutland, a peninsula north of Germany, but also with a number of islands, including the two major ones, Zealand and Funen. There are more than 400 islands and 4700 miles of coast line. In Denmark there are never more than 150 km from coast to coast - the sea is always part of the picture.

Once the seat of Viking raiders, the Danes are, overwhelmingly, a happy bunch. In fact, if you believe those contentment surveys that come out every couple of years, Denmark is one of the happiest nations on earth with some of the best quality of life. The Kingdom of Denmark is a constitutional monarchy. The current and reigning monarch is Queen Margrethe II.
